One of the main reasons why I wanted to start my blog was to post about the awesome weddings that I am so lucky to be a part of! I get to work with amazing venues and suppliers on these weddings so this is a way I can shout about them!
I had the pleasure of making Lucie and Lee's wedding cake on 30th August 2018 and delivering it to the amazing venue, The Mill Barns. Lucie had a good idea on what she would like for the design of the cake straight away, picking out a few of my previous designs which she liked (all with ruffles, so that was a definite for the design!) After a few emails Lucie decided to book me for her wedding cake!
During the consultation closer to the date they tried a few cake flavours and chose to have Dark chocolate Raspberry, Black Forest, Raspberry and white chocolate and Lemon - Yum! We then went through the design and picked a blush and ivory colour scheme to tie in the colours of their wedding, with elements of marble, shimmer and of course the ruffles. The top tier of the cake had a blush water colour effect with a lace stencil over the top and little silver dragees. This was to match Lucie's STUNNING dress which had a pale pink underlayer and the lace over the top. Here's a few photographs of the cake by their photographer Samantha Jane. I always love when I'm working on a wedding with Sam as I know I'm going to get amazing photos of the cake! Sam is also a recommended dream team supplier to The Mill Barns so we get to work together quite often and she takes the most beautiful and natural photos!
They also chose some other fab suppliers, who I've added links to below! The beautiful flowers were from Louise at The Flower Shop at Codsall who is one of my favourite florists and have worked with her on so many weddings! Samantha (and Lucie and Lee of course) kindly let me share some photographs from the day too! :)
